Daily Style: Wednesday, 2/8

black cropped pants (Gap Outlet, $30)
white lace tunic (nicole by Nicole Miller @ JCP, $20)
teal v-neck cardigan (Merona @ Target, $9)
purple pumps (Irregular Choice via Nordstrom Rack, $60)
Inspiration:
I almost don't want to even address the latest gossip re: Karl Lagerfeld's statements about Adele, but I will say it's pretty clear to me that as a formerly "overweight" person himself, he's putting his insecurities onto her, as he feels threatened that she chooses to live her life without constant shame and disgust of her body.  Shame on him.  I've read that people are boycotting Chanel because of these comments.  Easy.  Count me in.  I've been "boycotting" Chanel my entire life.

Daily Style: Friday, 9/23

trouser jean (a.n.a @ JCP, $10 after coupons)
white "boyfriend" shirt (H&M, $30)
green jacket (Merona via Clothes Mentor)
floral scarf (via scarf swap, Cary @ Cabootique)
purple pumps (Irregular Choice via Nordstrom Rack, $60)
ring (MNG by Mango @ JCP, $13)

Today I read via Refinery 29 that Gwyneth Paltrow made some comment about having 9 chins in a picture.  Um... does she not know how to count?  You don't start with 9... 2, 3, 4...

I have to take a moment to say that I really dislike when people that have only perceived body issues (or body image issues) complain about them.  It's not "cool".  It doesn't make you seem like a "normal" person.  We're not "bonding".  When people do this, it comes off as insensitive to people that have real, tangible issues - like people that do have some fat under their chin, or what-have-you.  Keep your "perceived" issues to yourself, please.  If you're skinny, please don't complain about your "back fat", "love handles", or "stomach" (because you, like most of the women in the world, included professional models, don't have a six pack of abs).  Especially around people that actually have fat on their back, stomach and hip area.  Would you complain about having to wear glasses while you were with your blind friend?  (Maybe that was a bad analogy...)

Anyway, in addition to coming off as insensitive, it makes the other person question - if you think YOU are disgusting, what must you think of THEM?!  (Unless your goal is to make your friends feel self-conscious around you, then by all means, go ahead!)

On this note, can we all (women and, hell even men!) agree to just STOP making disparaging remarks about our bodies, real or perceived?

Daily Style: Tuesday, 7/5

black cropped pants (Gap Outlet, $30) similar
cobalt blue origami blouse (Worthington, JCP, $10)
vest (PayHalf, old) similar
purple pumps (Irregular Choice, Nordstrom Rack, $60)

I'm very tired today.  My entire neighborhood celebrated the holiday until about 1 AM with fireworks, fireworks, and more fireworks.  Oh, and my dog is afraid of fireworks.  Good times.

Daily Style: Sunday, 7/3

yellow top (nicole by Nicole Miller, JCP, $26)
white shorts (nicole by Nicole Miller, JCP, $15)
white tank (Worthington, JCP, $7 after coupon)
purple pumps (Irregular Choice, Nordstrom Rack, $60)
scarf (via Cary @ Cabootique)

This beautiful scarf came from Cary via the Scarf Swap organized by Jessie, Jentine, Katy & Kendi.  I can't wait to see how she styles the scarf I sent her way.

A friend helped me find these babies the other day at Nordstrom Rack.  I've always wanted a pair of Irregular Choice shoes, but I can't justify spending $130 or more on one pair, let alone a wacky pair.  At $54.90 how could I pass these up?
