Daily Style: Friday, 12/30 + DIY Giveaway

cropped jeans (ELLE @ Kohl's, $23)
black/white tie-neck blouse (east5th @ JCP, $15)
black vest (PayHalf)
tall boots (BearPaw via Famous Footwear, $80)

I feel like I should be out riding horses today.

I know we were all excited for awesome pictures with the new camera -

But I have no place to set it at home, and I don't have a photographer either.  I need a tripod.

I did, however, take some lovely pictures of the next giveaway!

This is a multi-tonal chainmaille and stone necklace.  This necklace has 4 links done in the byzantine chainmaille design incorporating nickel and bronze in the first, followed by a silver-toned bead (grey), nickel and copper in the second, followed by a copper-colored (orange) bead, copper and bronze in the third, followed by a bronze-colored (brown) bead, and ending with bronze and nickel.  The necklace is finished with double links of copper and a copper hook closure.

I apologize for the blinding qualities of my skin.

Daily Style: Monday, 11/21 + Assets Review & Giveaway

fruit-print dress (MNG by Mango, c/o JCP)
navy old-man sweater (Gap, Clothes Mentor)
red platform lace-up booties (Glaze via GoJane.com, $39)
Assets shaper tights (c/o JCP), black belt (H&M, $6), gold ring (MNG by Mango @ JCP, $15)

Let's get something straight, I'm generally not a fan of shape-wear.  My opinion has always been that if it works, it's uncomfortable and if it's comfortable, it doesn't work.  I haven't been a huge fan of control-top pantyhose either, again, because of comfort.  (This coming from someone who butchers her feet wearing high-heels, almost daily, in the name of fashion.)  But when JCP asked me to review an Assets product, I wanted to keep an open mind because there was that possibility that this could be a great product, and you (my lovely readers) deserve to find out!

Given my negativity towards shape-wear, I'm pleasantly surprised with these Assets shaper tights.

They are comfortable, not itchy (like some control-tops can be) and the waistband is wide, so it stays in place.  Having to deal with a rolling waistband all day is no fun = no problem here.  Now, they aren't going to give the illusion of an overnight lipo session, but they do provide you a smooth surface, and just maybe, a bit more confidence, as well.  They also feel very strong - I doubt I'll put my thumb through these suckers, and they're easy to get on.  And warm too!

Check out all the Assets products at JCP.  My next pair will be these sexy backseam shapers!

JCP has also provided me with a second pair of Assets Shaper Tights in Floral, size 2 (see chart here) for one lucky C&C reader, so you can see for yourself!  To enter this giveaway you must:
