I wasn't planning on doing any shopping on Black Friday, but I did wait until the crowds had died down and the madness was no longer.
(Don't judge, I didn't do my hair or put on any makeup for this outing.)
Here's what I tried on!
Jennifer Lopez Bootcut Trouser Pants in marshmallow, $42 on sale, size 14
Jennifer Lopez Faux-Suede Bomber Jacket, $60 on sale, size XL
These trousers are high-waisted, flare leg, nice, soft fabric, pretty much exactly what I've been looking for! I'm not a huge fan of the price, but they are cheaper online today with an extra 20% off the whole site and after bringing a pair home, I realized I could get them in short and they will probably fit better. I have to wear a gigantic heel WITH a platform and it still looks like I have no feet in the average length. We shall see if the shorts are better, but I think they will be. Also, I got a size 16 and they fit better in the waist.
The bomber jacket was cute, and comfy, but a little overpriced. When purchasing the short sized trousers online, I noticed this jacket comes in petite, as well. I added it to my cart and may return it. It seems warm enough to wear out on a warmer winter night and much more stylish than a winter coat. I like my jackets shorter so they hit me at my smallest part, emphasizing my waist, and the arms on regulars are usually too long, so for those reasons, I usually get petite jackets.

I thought these pants would be cute in a menswear inspired, Annie Hall, look, but they were too short to be regular pants and too long to be cropped, as I thought they would be. They were very unflattering and I did not purchase them.
I liked the fit and look of this jacket, but I wasn't so thrilled with it to spend $40. It did not come home with me.

You can see how long the pants are in this picture. I did buy them, but I will probably return them once I receive them in short. Otherwise, I just thought I would get them hemmed.
The jacket fits better a size up, but still not that impressed. Notice how long the sleeves are.
I like this top and you will see it below worn a few different ways. I like to try on outfits in the dressing room, so I can get an sense of what how versatile a specific piece is. I'm not sure how versatile this top will be, but I like the color and the length, so I bought it.

Crepe shirt with marshmallow pants. I quite like this look, but it's not right for winter. It's more springy-summery. I think it looks classy though.
I also tried on this ELLE Dot Pleated Skirt, in cool pink, size 14, the ELLE Solid Collarless Coat, in marshmallow, size 14 and the Rock and Republic Roll-Tab Chambray Shirt, size XL. The skirt was not flattering and a little tight, the coat was too tight and ill-fitting, and I could barely get the chambray shirt. I guess ELLE and Rock & Republic are not brands for me. I seem to have luck with Jennifer Lopez so I guess I'll stick with her!
