skirt - thrifted
tank - Mossimo/Target (worn backwards)
shoes - Call It Spring/JCP
aluminum bag - ???/old
rings - ???/old, Moria Silver/Renaissance Faire, Vintage Garage/Chicago

I saw this skirt while thrifting with a friend, and I was making jokes about it at first. I had her try it on 'cause she's my monkey sometimes. Once I saw how big it was on her, I tried it on and it fit great! I decided to buy it and she thought I was crazy. Still does. I am. So what.

Anyway, I removed the puka shells that were sewed onto the bottom, washed it, and put it away for a warmer day. That day came and I'm fucking ecstatic that I spent like-a-whole-$3 or so on this skirt!

This skirt is me. It's 90's, It's throwback. It's easy. It fits well. It's high-waisted. It moves with my body. I piled on the silver jewelry (also very me) and used my aluminum bag for the day. It all reminds me of my teenage years.

I find that I'm extremely comfortable in clothing and accessories that I either wore in my teens or would have worn in my teens. I now look back on that time with admiration, but I'm not sure why. I wasn't particularly happy then, so it's not that. Maybe because it was a simpler time. Maybe in some twisted way, it was somewhat pleasurable to be awkward while coming into my own.

Who knows.

What I do know is that you will likely find me in this skirt every other weekend this summer. This exact outfit, to be specific.

What type of clothing are you most comfortable or most "you" in?
