Eleven Things

Callie @ Coffee and Cardigans tagged me in "11 Things".  A perfect excuse to post something here.  (No, I didn't jump ship!  I promise I will post more after I've moved this weekend!)  The rules are as follows:

 1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.
1.  I'm sort-of addicted to TV.  I rarely go a day without watching it and I have a ton of shows that I watch regularly.  Some of my favorites of the moment are The Lying Game, Once Upon a Time and Switched at Birth.  Old faves: Roswell, Quantum Leap and Heroes (seasons 1 & 2, after which is went downhill).

2.  My dog is named Ziggy and her name comes from Quantum Leap.

3.  I had braces for about 4 years, from 6th grade until I was a Junior in HS.  I'm pretty sure I had them on 2 years too long.

4.  I have less teeth than an average adult.  I was given headgear when I had braces, but I wouldn't wear it (actually, I wore it to bed, but would tear it off in my sleep and chuck it across the room) so I was given a choice to continue to wear headgear or have some teeth pulled.  I chose the latter.  Headgear sucks!

5.  I have a really hard time getting up in the morning.  It's gotten better, but it used to take 3 alarms going off for an hour, or a sonic boom to get me up.

6.  My first car was a stick shift.  I didn't know how to drive stick before I bought the car.  The seller gave me lessons.

7.  I got my first tattoo when I was 16.  It was done with a needle, thread, and India ink.  It was pretty terrible so I had it covered a few years ago.

8.  I can type approximately 65 WPM.  I could probably type faster if I didn't correct my mistakes.

9.  When I was 19, I had my tongue pierced.  A few years ago it started bothering me, so I took it out.

10.  I quit smoking over four years ago.  It's not nearly as hard as it was in the beginning of my quit, but there are still times that I miss it.

11.  I was fired from a babysitting job in sixth grade.  Who gets fired from babysitting?!

Callie's 11 questions are as follows:

1. Where is your perfect vacation destination and why?  I have to go with the Bahamas on this.  I've been there before so I know I would like it, the weather is wonderful... really I would take a vacation ANYWHERE at this point.  I think as long as I'm with people whose company I enjoy, I would appreciate any vacation location.

2. What is one thing that you couldn't go a day without?  See above - TV.

3. What blog(s) is your go-to for inspiration and ideas?  Lately I've been getting inspiration from Little Chief Honeybee and Ruby Girl, but I also get a lot of inspiration from the massive amounts of TV I watch.

4. What is your favorite book that you've ever read? Why?  The Fat Girl's Guide to Life by Wendy Shanker because this was the first book I read that started me on my body-acceptance journey.  And it's funny too!

5. What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?  Be one with [it].  While trying to make glass beads in HS jewelry class, my teacher told me that and I was able to make it work.  Anytime I'm struggling with something, I try to become one with it, and it usually helps.

6.  Which do you prefer: Facebook or Twitter? Why?  Facebook.  I STILL don't understand Twitter!

7. What is your favorite thing about yourself physically?  I actually have a few favorites, but for this I will choose my neck.  It's skinny, which I think is the main factor in rocking short hair.

8. What is your favorite thing about yourself personality-wise?  My humor.  I think I'm funny.

9. Tell us about your best friend in the world.  I guess that would be my Mom.  I talk to her every day, we are very close.

10. If you were to win a million dollars, what would you do with it?  Buy lots of shoes!  ...then I would buy a modest house, possibly a small apartment building, like a 2-flat and then more shoes!

11. What is one thing you want to do before you die?  This is a tough question, I don't really have a "bucket list"... live a full life, I guess?

My 11 Questions!!!

1.  What is your favorite fashion era and why?
2.  What is your least favorite fashion era and why?
3.  What is your favorite blog post of yours?
4.  What is your proudest accomplishment?
5.  If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
6. If you had to eat the same type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?  (Like you can have any flavor ice cream, but only ice cream.)
7.  Is the glass half-empty or half-full?
8.  If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
9.   If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, what store would you choose?
10. Do you think leggings are pants or not?
11.  If you were a fruit or veggie, what would you be and why?
