Fashion Facsimile: Alpargata Espadrilles

Can you tell which costs $54 and which is $42?

Yes, not a massive difference in price, but $12 is still $12.

I've read some negative reactions to Skechers "copying" Tom's business model and shoe design with their version - "Bobs".  Both companies are giving a pair of shoes to a child in need with every pair purchased.  As far as the design copy, the Toms shoe design is not unique - it's called an "alpargata" style espadrille, and it's been around for quite sometime.

My question is - does it really matter?

Both companies are doing a good deed here, so I say it's up to you on whether you want to spend $54 or $42, or which shoe you prefer.
